    Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) Review

Motorola has so many phones that it is almost impossible to toss a rock in a random direction without striking one of Motorola’s affordable smartphones. Generally, the corporation has prioritized numbers above quality, producing as many inexpensive cell phones as possible. Especially Motorola phones released in the United States are typically under powered, annoying, and uninspired.

    Detailed Overview Of Specifications

    Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) Design & Colors

Plastic phones are still prevalent in this price bracket, with just a handful of glass and metal powerhouses defying the norm. Even though most users and reviews do not rate plastic well, Motorola Moto G Stylus 2022 Price should be anticipated in the sub $500 price bracket.

The Moto G Stylus 5G is composed of plastic, and although it doesn’t stand out for anything, in particular, it is an attractive and well-constructed phone. It has a comforting but not overpowering weight and a design language that blends the looks of industrial flat edges with the comfort of a gently curved backplate that fits so well in the palm. The bottom of the device also has a 3.5mm audio connector and expandable storage, two relics from the distant past.

Although the bezels are uneven and hefty, this is anticipated at this price point. A disadvantage of the material utilized for the Moto G Stylus is that it attracts dirt and smudges quickly. You may purchase a case not just for protection but also to reduce greasy fingerprint smudges.

The Moto G Stylus has a fingerprint sensor, although it is not incorporated in the screen but rather on the side power button. We are delighted with its positioning and general response since it unlocks the phone with lightning-fast speed. Locking the phone and authenticating occurred in a single, fluid motion. We missed an in-display fingerprint sensor, not at all.

Steel Blue and Seafoam Green are the two color options for the Moto G Stylus, and we had the blue model in our possession. The actual color is rather dark, yet it complements the phone and gives it an air of sophistication.

    Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) Display

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) has a massive 6.8-inch IPS LCD with an FHD+ resolution of 2460 by 1080 pixels, resulting in a respectable pixel density of 395PPI. Our expert equipment assessed a maximum brightness of more than 550 nits for the display. Even in direct sunshine, the display is quite readable. Meanwhile, the lowest brightness can go as low as 0.8 nits, which is excellent and allows you to operate the phone in total darkness without experiencing eye strain.

The camera of Moto G Stylus 5G (2022)

This Motorola smartphone with a stylus has a 50MP primary camera that employs quad-binning to combine four sensor pixels into one and hence generates 12.5MP photos by default. The primary camera features an F1.9 aperture and 0.64 m pixels. In theory, the 8MP ultra-wide camera and 2MP depth sensor should aid portrait photography. There is a 16MP selfie camera on the front of the phone. Compared to last year’s Moto G Stylus 5G, the absence of a macro camera is a significant omission. Good riddance.

The camera is, all things considered, rather adequate. It’s not a flagship camera and won’t impress you. Still, it routinely captures shots with realistic and rich colors, reasonable dynamic range (though highlights may be blown out in some lighting settings), and acceptable sharpness. Regarding photography performance, the updated Moto G Stylus is very in line with what we’d anticipate from a $449 smartphone.

    Stylus

As previously said, one of the most exciting features of the Moto G Stylus is its stylus, which sits snugly in its silo on the right side of the bottom. It’s a standard stylus with no working buttons or capacitor; it’s simply a circular pen that can insert in any direction. Like Samsung’s S Pen smartphones, this one is removed by pressing its top button and removing it with your fingers. Despite its ultra-thin appearance, the pen is surprisingly pleasant to use.

Note that this phone lacks the pressure sensitivity of Samsung’s stylus-compatible phones. The Moto G Stylus pen features a semi-circular tip resembling a microphone’s windshield. It lacks precision, and writing with the stylus seems unnatural. Even after a week or two, it’s challenging to get accustomed to, but it’s sufficient for the odd short note or picture edit.

Talk About Software, Performance, And Stylus Features

The Moto G Stylus 5G, which runs Android 12, does not exceptionally great in terms of performance, but neither does it disappoint. With a Snapdragon 695 CPU and 8GB of RAM at the helm, you get a mid-range experience, but a superior one. Even in battery-saving mode, it performed streaming, maps, and ticket functions without trouble, in my experience.

The battery life of the phone is remarkable. Even at the end of its life, the battery’s 5,000 mAh capacity provides enough power. Four hours later, after writing about the game, receiving directions to the United Center, and confirming our parking space on SpotHero, the phone’s battery had dropped from 25% to 8% after being tested at a Bulls playoff game.

Charging Speeds Of Moto G Stylus 5G (2022)

As previously said, Motorola is kind enough to include a 10W charging brick with the phone, which is somewhat anticipated, given the price range. Still, it may not be long before these are also discontinued.

Does Times Take For Fully Charging?

Our simple charging test from 0% to 100% took 176 minutes, or 2 hours and 56 minutes, which is quite lengthy. Even the iPhone SE (2022) can be ultimately charged in 1 hour and 30 minutes, which is twice as fast as comparable devices.

    What’s New With Moto G Stylus 5G

    • High-refresh rate display with 120Hz
    • NFC
    • Triple camera arrangement
    • Snapdragon 695
    • Qualcomm Fast Charging 3.0

    PROS

    • Sturdy, sturdy feel
    • Excellent stylus characteristics
    • Very seamless display operation

    CONS

    • Bezels everywhere
    • One speaker produces an imbalanced sound.
    • Weakly charging

    Conclusion

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) solves most of our issues with its predecessor. It features a new, faster chipset, upgraded cameras, an NFC chip, and a 120Hz display. My personal experience with the phone has also been positive: there were no problems, and it satisfied all my demands without requiring any thought. Indeed, the camera experience hasn’t been great, and I would have preferred an OLED display.
